University Acceptance and A-Level Results

In mid-August 2022, I received my A-Level results from Hills Road Sixth Form College:

  • A-Level Mathematics: A*

  • A-Level Physics: A

  • A-Level Computer Science: A

  • A-Level Further Mathematics: A

  • EPQ: C

I have been accepted to the University of Sheffield to study for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with the intent to switch to the Master's course in my second year and add a year in industry ( 7th Ranked university UK 2025 for mechanical engineering).

I am very pleased with the results I achieved, as they were much higher than I had expected. I was only predicted AABC, which is why I initially applied to study a Bachelor's degree. The grade requirement for the Bachelor's course was AAB, while the Master's required AAA, and I believed this increased my chances of being accepted to Sheffield. Two months prior to my exams, I had not applied myself fully to my studies and therefore had low predicted grades. However, as the exams approached, I committed to studying in the library for 8 hours a day over the next two months to make up for lost time.
